As you well know, the last quarter of the year is the busiest and most profitable period for retailers.

With the huge shift to online shopping due to COVID-19 and lockdowns around Europe, the figures for Q4 give us a great insight into the scale of this change.

In basic terms, and perhaps unsurprisingly the number of packages shipped overall has increased substantially. But if you dig into the data further, you can also see big increases in the number of packages shipped cross border and domestically.

With this trend only going to continue upwards, retailers need to continue to adapt in order to meet their customers’ demands both now and looking ahead post-pandemic.
